A Traversal

Today,

We find ourselves

Confined to four walls

In a battle with an obstinate pestilence,

Daydreaming by the window.

Just yesterday it seems,

A caress came without

Second thought or

Caution, but fret not.

Reciprocating embraces

Will be birthed

In our new normal.

Now,

Within God’s holy shelter,

We eradicate dis-ease

And reflect on a greater love

For ourselves,

For others.

We honor our

Seasoned saints, our

Historians, our

Warriors

With an ode to

The spirit and the human.

Tomorrow,

Our walls crumble,

Paving the rebuilding of

Soul-touching prayer,

Heartwarming worship,

And love from and through

Our glorious Almighty.
